To Dylan

Our sweet little boy! I can't believe how fast the years are passing, and how much you have learned and grown! You seriously are the center of our lives. There is never a dull moment with your sweet, happy personality around. We wanted to dedicate this post to you so we can all remember how much fun and energetic you were at 3!

Right now you have two loves. Farming and Basketball. I'm not sure what order they come in, but equally you are obsessed. First thing in the morning when you wake up you take off your pajamas and put on your jersey and basketball shorts. That is the only thing you will play basketball in. A couple months ago we got you a Deron Williams jersey, and you insisted on wearing it every single day. You cried the first time it was washed and waited very impatiently by the dryer for it to be ready to be donned again.

For Christmas all you wanted was a basketball hoop. Actually you wanted two, because you have to have two hoops to play for some reason. You have adjusted very well to just having one, and using the garbage can for the other. You are a dead eye shot and you love to shoot from "Jimmer range." You love when daddy will play, standing up! You insist he stands up to play. You have created some games you play together like your line game. (Mom tried playing this with you one day, but you told me it was for you and dad.) You LOVE basketball. I seriously can't get over how much you know, and play this game. Every time you color you end up drawing a basketball court. You are pretty good at making sure everything is correct on it. It makes your mom and dad smile. We hope you keep it up and continue to enjoy the things you love so much.

Your other love is farming. You have been into tractors since you were born! You really enjoy going with your dad to feed cows, and ride in the tractor! You have a bajillion tractors at home, and they are often out and about everywhere in all your fields. You like us to farm with you, but you are very inparticular in how we have to play. We have to use our finger to climb the stairs to get in the tractor, then when we are loading anything you make sure we have the loader up all the way before we drive. You LOVE to have us help you hook up the drill/trailer/ect. to your tractor so it is JUST how Grandpa and Dad do it on the farm. You have even carried your toy cows/calves into the sheds, and some have even died. You don't miss a step when you play at home. It is JUST like it goes down on the farm.

You even pretend to put on your socks like dad and grandpa, wrapping your pants over and pulling on a big ol' sock. You then shake the "hay/straw" out of your boots, just like grandpa and pull them on.

One of your favorite things about the farm is Grandma's cat Taz. You have a handful of playful names for taz, most often it is tazzers. YOU LOVE to play with this cat, even when it scratches/bites you. You guys play like brothers. Good thing Grandma has a cat because your mom hates them and will not let you have one at home.

For some reason one night you decided to pull your Dad's big socks on. You thought it was pretty funny, so did we. You are always making us laugh.

Dylan, you have been such a great help around the house. You help us clean up your toys (most of the time without having a melt down). Your favorite "chore" you like to do is put the soap in the dishwasher! You are so good to make sure we always have clean dishes. You love to vacuum, and have started to help dust. This one makes me kinda nervous because I think you mostly just like to spray the cleaner. We are very grateful for your willingness to help us around the house.

You love to get money for your "fun money jar" and you love to count the money and use it to go bowling. Bowling is one of your very most favorite things. Every time we pass Pop N' Pins bowling alley you remind us that is where we go bowling, and you use the orange ball. You are such a hoot to bowl with. You don't let us help you anymore, and sometimes I wonder if the ball is ever going to reach the pins. It always does, and you always end with a very high score! I love watching you jump up and down the entire time your ball is slowly rolling down the lane. Some times for an unknown reason you chant "AIR BALL" while your ball is rolling. It cracks us up.

The other night you insisted on saying your prayers by yourself. You have been pretty good at saying prayers on the food for some time now, but the other night you said the most sweet, tender, personal prayer. It made your mom cry. You are so in tune with the things going on in our little family. You have such a tender heart, and a great knowledge. You are always doing and saying things that really impress your dad and I. We are so blessed to have you in our lives, Dylan. You are such a dream! Thank you for always entertaining us, and reminding us we need to be happy!

"Did you say that word?!" thanks to Nana and Papa every time Dylan (or anybody) says hippopotamus you have to be tickled. Dylan LOVES to be tickled. He wants you to tickle him until he says, "I love you forever." this game is kinda fun, but in very random moments he says, "the word" and then gets mad if we can't tickle him, like driving in the car, or in the middle of sacrament meeting.

Dylan, you are also the Word Police. You hear the word stupid from a mile away and remind us that we don't say that word. You are always asking us if _________ is a bad or good word. I think my favorite was the other day you got this very concerned look on your face and said to me, "Mom, ridiculous... can we say that word? Or is it a bad one?" I told you it was a good one. You looked at me and said that is redicable.

Dylan, you are going to grow up to be such a great young man. You already are such a stud! You definitely act like a 3 year old though. I'm not going to lie, you can be a pill. Speaking of being a pill, whenever we call you that, you say "I'm not a pill! I'm not an orange!" You always make us smile and laugh even when you are being a "pill". But we wouldn't change it for the world. Thank you for being our son, our best boy! We Love you to the Moon and back 80 bajillion times.
xoxo

I LOVE this post! He is such a funny kid. It's crazy how much joy and happiness our kid(s) bring to us. I LOVE it!

P.S. I hate cats too and will never allow my children to have them. They are the worst creatures EVER! Just sayin'...
